One Month Later

I can't believe that James is a month old all ready. It has been an interesting month too. Being a mother of two is easier than I thought it would be. For the most part Wyler has really taken to James. At first he wasn't too sure about having someone else he had to share mom with. But now he seems to have no problem. He has tried to share toys with James, he wants to rough house (I have to keep a close eye on him when he is in a wild mood), and he has even offered to share crackers with James. When James is crying Wyler will find the pacifier and "offer" it to James, but it is more of a "you WILL take this" than an offer. The past few days Wyler has been asking to hold James, and has been trying to say James. It is really sweet to see.

When James was a couple weeks old they boys and I went to visit Grandpa and Grammy Richins for the day. It was a nice visit. Grammy got to hold James for the first time.  As soon as Grandpa was home for lunch he took over the rough task of holding James.

At James's one month check up he had grown two inches and gained three pounds.

Wyler has decided that it is fun to find little nooks to climb in.

Last Sunday we blessed James Riley Scott Hansen. We hadn't told anyone that we had added my Dad's name to James's name.  I wanted it to be a surprise for my dad. We made it so that he first heard during the blessing. Boy was he tickled at that.

The next couple weeks hold a couple adventures for us. I get to have my gallbladder removed. And as soon as that is done Zach gets to finally leave Freeport and get back into the world of construction.  I am so excited for that change. We have been hoping and praying that he'd be able to leave his current job and get back to what he loves to do. And it is finally happening!

Hopefully I'll get back to posting a touch more often.

  1. Oh how wonderful to see pictures! I absolutely loved the one with Grandpa! So sweet. I think that's what my dad would look like with my kids. ;)
Ooh! Not fun! I'll be praying that the surgery goes well and you'll recover quickly.
That's so wonderful about the job! I'm sure y'all are so very excited about that. :)
Thanks for the update! Loved reading it. :)
