Answer Me This: Names, Mom, and Hot Chocolate

Answer Me This time!!

1. How did you get your name?

I was named after two amazing women, my Grandma Carolyn and Grandma Ruth.

2. Do you have a set time for prayer in your day?

I pray every night, and try for every morning but unfortunately I miss more than not. I try to pray before meals, and any other time in between that I could use God's help or to thank him for help given. And I make sure to pray with the boys every night before they go to sleep.
3. Did your mom work or stay home (or both)?

She was/is a stay at home mom. I loved knowing she was there if something went wrong at school she could come, that she would he there waiting for us when we got home from school.  I remember a time when I was in the second or third grade I got sick at school. The school couldn't get ahold of my mom (she was gone to town shopping) so I had to go home with a relative. I remember that mom not being able to come really bothered me, and from that day on I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom, just like mine.

4. Do you vote?

I do vote. It is a right/privilege that men lost their lives to get and protect for us. Also if you don't vote you don't have the right to complain about whom ever is in office.

5. What's your favorite drink?

Hot chocolate.  Sadly it doesn't get cold for very long here, so I have a limited amount of time when I can actually enjoy it, since I don't want to drink something hot when it is in the 100's outside.
6. How are your photography skills?

Good enough to point and shoot day to day life. Not good enough for anything else.

Next weeks questions are:

1. What’s something you've won and how did you win it?

2. Do you save old greeting cards and letters, or throw them all away? Why?

3. When you’re at home, do you wear shoes, socks, slippers, or go barefoot?

4. Who’s the most famous person you have ever met?

5. What has been your best work of art?

6.  What’s your strongest sense?

  1. Wow, what an impact that day in grade school had on you! I can understand it, though. I would feel awful if my kids were sick and had to go home with someone besides me.

All of our kids have a family name, either first or middle name. Fortunately, we only have one daughter, as our choices would have been limited for girls. Our grandmas don't/didn't have the best names. My paternal grandma even told me once, "You better never name one of your kids after me!" She hated her name and didn't want anyone to be saddled with it.

    1. I'm curious now what your Grandmothers' names are...
